The Ways of God
The Ways of God
The numerical value )gematria) of the phrase “the ways of God” (Darkei YHWH דרכי יהוה ) is 260, 10 tines 26, the numerical value of God’s ineffable name YHWH (יהוה). The word for ”the ways of “ (Darkei דרכי) equals 234 = 9 times 26. We can postulate from here that “the ways of God” entail the full and ultimate revelation of God in the world, for 10 times a number alludes, in Kabbalah, to its full revelation in all the powers of the soul -> the 10 supernal Sefirot (Chakras) of the Tree of Life, the channels by which God created the world.
The idiom “the way of God to do charity and justice” appears only once in Genesis 18:19 as it relates to Abraham. This is the first and only appearance of this idiom in the Five Books of Moses. From this we can postulate that “to do charity and justice” is the all-inclusive “way of God”. It is worth noting that The numerical value of Abraham is 248 which is the numerical value of the phrase “Etzem Ha’Luz” (the Sacrum Bone) which is the seat of the Kundalini.
The numerical value of the phrase “the way of God to do charity and justice” (Darkei YHWH La’asot Tzdakah veh-Mishpat דרכי יהוה לעשות צדקה ומשפת) is 1690 = 26 times 65. As stated above, 26 is the numerical value of God’s ineffable name YHWH; 65 is the value of one of God’s other names Adonai (אדני ), translated as Master or Lord. Here it is worth noting that within the Kabbalistic tradition the name YHWH is often not pronounced and instead the word Adonai is used when YWHW is encountered in a written form. Thus, 1690 is the product of God’s concealed and revealed dimensions. Throughout the Kabbalistic tradition, whenever a word is read not as it is written its written form represents its revealed dimension. 26 = 2 times 13; 65 = 5 times 13; their product is 1690, thus equals 10 times 13². 13 is the numerical value of the word Echad (אחד), translated as “one”, “unity” and Ahavah (אהבה), translated as “Love”. 1690 is thus the perfect unity and love –> 13² –> 10 times over – revealed in all the 10 powers of the soul – the 10 Sefirot of the Tree of Life.
On another related note when adding the numerical value of YHWH (26) to the numerical value of Adonai (65) the total is 91 –> the numerical value of the word Amen, the OM (ॐ) of the Eastern faith.
The numerical value of the phrase “The way of God” (Derech YHWH דרך יהוה) is 250, the numerical value of the word “candle” (ner נר). The purpose of a candle is to illuminate the way for the seeker to search for God. A candle is meant to shine at night in a state of darkness, a state of consealment of Divine light, the general and current state of this world. For this reason, “candle,” 250, has the numerical valueof the phrase “great light” (Ohr Gadol אור גדול), as in the words of the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 9:1) “The people walking in darkness saw great light.”
Every key of Solomon is meant to reveal and bring down God’s light into our lives. Many of the Keys of Solomon use the God’s ineffable name YHWH (יהוה ) for that exact purpose. Meditating on any of the Solomoic Keys opens the supernal worlds to shine the Divine countenance and bring about enlightenment for those who seek it.
